My name is Iulia Pysmenna
I am a professional linguist, an educator, and an enthusiast of Latin. In my classes, I strive to develop linguistic proficiency and a deeper understanding of the profound connections between Latin and our everyday lives and its enduring influence on language, culture and thought.
INDIVIDUAL LESSONS
My methodology is based on knowledge of linguistic theory, a deep understanding of the language system, and many years of practical experience teaching Latin. I see language as embodying general universal principles of thought in grammar and vocabulary.
I work with all the most common approaches and textbooks, e.g., Cambridge Latin Course, the Oxford Latin Course, Wheelock's Latin, Lingua Latina per se Illustrata and the natural approach by Hans H. Ørberg.
Lessons on the reading originals with comments and interpretation for the intermediate and advanced levels.

by Hans H. Ørberg, is a world-famous, effective Latin course based on the nature method or contextual induction. No previous knowledge of Latin is needed! You will learn Latin grammar and vocabulary from context (the natural learning process) with supplementary exercises and speaking activities.

How to make payment for classes?
Students interested in individual lessons can take a free 25-minute trial lesson. The first lesson for the group classes is also free.
What level of Latin proficiency should I have to participate in classes?
Individual classes are held for any level of language proficiency, from absolute beginners. Group classes involve different levels of language proficiency, from beginner to upper intermediate, depending on the program. If you would like more details, please see here.
Classes are paid either individually or as a package. If a package is purchased, the students get a discount, depending on the program. Students typically use PayPal (all currencies) or a bank transfer to pay in euros. Payment for each class is expected to be received before class time. Invoices can be provided if you'd like them.
What is the duration of the lesson?
Individual lessons are one hour in duration.
Group lessons last 75 min each.
